Evergreen Cellars Newsletter
Greetings!

Memorial Weekend is upon us!  For those of you lucky to get a 4 day weekend, enjoy! Take time to reflect on the actual meaning of the holiday, for those honored war heros and veterans memories.  Let's raise a glass of our best to them all and wish them and us all, peace!
Many of you came down to last weekends Snohomish Motorcycle exposition-about 15,000 that is! Wasn't that fun-and the weather was at it's utmost best!  Snohomish was jam packed with motorcycles, people, food, fun and frolic, and from what I hear, everything went safely and securely.
Just when the weather was getting good and hot, and we were breaking out the summer whites (remember, summer white, some are red!)-then wham, summers over AGAIN!  Now, I'm putting away the Pinot gris and dragging out that Cabernet!  No, not really.  A true lover of the wines of the Pacific Northwest will find a reason to drink whatever suits their fancy-anytime!  Kind of like the "it's 5:00 somewhere saying"!

Want to throw out some kudos to Zerba Cellars out of Milton-Freewater, Oregon!  Congrats on receiving "Outstanding" awards for their 2005 Merlot and Syrah at this years Seattle Wine Awards.   Very Prestigious-and Evergreen Cellars has been a longtime fan!  Good job!
Staying close to home this weekend? Be sure to check out Dusty Cellars Winery on Camano Island-just had their grand opening on Mothers Day Weekend for their new tasting room. We can't wait for many more new release from these great people.

More news:
This weekend is a biggie in the Willamette Valley.  One of the two weekends a year (the other is the weekend after Thanksgiving) that the majority of the big Pinot Noir produces open up the vineyards to the public.  What a fun road trip that could be!  Go to  www.willamettewines.com for more info.
and....
Spring Barrel releases out on the Olympic Peninsula.  www.olympicpeninsulawineries.org.  Seven wineries will be showcasing their new releases, including one of our favorites, Lost Mountain Winery.  Spectacular scenary and wines to go with.  Stop in Sequim, Port Angeles, Port Townsend or just about anywhere along the way for the best picnic ever.

Don't want to go anywhere or has the price of gas sent you screaming?
Then go downtown!  Downtown Snohomish!  After all, we are a destination place an done of the most historical AND picturesque.  Imagine-here, right here!  In your own backyard.  Long, liesurely strolls up and down the streets, perusing antique shops, restaurants, historical houses, the Snohomish River and its park, watching skydivers at Harvey Airfield and when you're all done, meander back to Evergreen Cellars.  Wind down your afternoon or evening with a wine tasting of the great wines from the Pacific Northwest!  What a way to end the day.  Take a bottle home so you feel like the vacation never ends.
